This professional position is responsible for the overall vision, implementation, advertisement, management, and operation of community wellness programs, aquatics facilities and operations within the City.

Experience:
Minimum High School Diploma or a G.
E.
D.
Certificate from a recognized educational institution and have three to five years of like experience, including at least two years of supervisory experience in this field or a closely related field.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
Employees must possess, at minimum, a basic working knowledge of the following skill sets along with the ability to demonstrate an improvement of these skills within 30 days of their start date.
Ability to communicate effectively.
Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and database development and use.
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, interest, and similar concepts.
Strong leadership, decision-making, program creation, management, and people skills.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
The following is illustrative of the work duties and responsibilities of this position.
Establishes, reviews, and manages budgets related to all facilities and operations associated with community wellness programs and aquatics facilities and operations.
Assisting in hiring of seasonal employees, training, managing, and disciplinary actions of all personnel under their supervision and/or programs.
This includes training and certification of lifeguards.
Creates, evaluates, promotes, and oversees all activities necessary to initiate new programs/events.
Idea generation and analysis of potential programs/activities.
Oversees record keeping and the timely execution of financial requirements such as requisitions, purchase orders, payment of bills and other reports.
Responsible for organizing park rentals, scheduling, and delegating all work necessary to ensure facilities are properly maintained for reservations.
Manages office functions and documents including all necessary files, reports, studies, proposals, and budgets.
Prepare and disseminate all correspondence in a consistent, professional manner utilizing available technology to increase the material's attractiveness.
Required Licenses:
Illinois Class D Vehicle Operators License Certified Lifeguard Instructor CPR Certification

Residency Requirements:
Employees of the City of Danville must establish their principal residence within forty-five miles of the City of Danville corporate limits within six months following successful completion of the probationary period.
