Extrusion Manager

Summary:
Enforce policies as the leader within the department.
Work with the team to develop, manage, and monitor all products transferred from the R&D to manufacturing.
Responsibilities:
Develop Standard Operating Procedures for department.
Work closely with corporate R&D to help develop products at the plant level.
Involved in developing, improving, and overseeing extrusion technology.
Involved in developing training for extrusion staff.
Plan daily production schedules with Extrusion Supervisor to effectively utilize labor and achieve short and long-term production needs.
Monitor production quality and make recommendations for improvement.
Provide technical support to extrusion production staff.
Analyze production runs to establish new operating parameters for existing products; establish operating conditions for new products.
Project scope development, drawing development and approval, equipment and project specifications, project schedules and budgets.
Lead equipment optimization process.
Troubleshoot and innovate process improvements.
Maximize customer service and profit, while maintaining high quality products.
Interface with other departments, including maintenance, planning, quality, and operations, Analyze and reduce production costs and actively participate in development of new products.
Must have a flexible schedule to support off shifts.
Environmental Conditions Conditions include exposure to constant or intermittent noise.
Ear plugs are required.
In addition, there is exposure to conditions such as dusts, chemicals, and allergens that can affect the respiratory system, eyes, or the skin.
Safety gear including hard hats is required for bump protection and to prevent exposure to potential contaminants.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 5-8 years of directly related manufacturing experience - complete understanding of food processing and extrusion systems.
Strong leadership skills, with at least 3-5 years of experience in a leadership/influencer role.
Bachelor's degree in chemical or mechanical engineering or Food Science a plus Demonstrated project management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Must be able to work independently and with teams.
Knowledge of environmental, code and safety regulations on the Federal, State, and local levels.
