Packaging Engineer

Designing expandable and returnable packaging for manufactured products;
Working with Purchasing to establish vendors and pricing for packaging designs;
Approving tooling design and costing for packaging designs;
Developing company specifications for the testing of packaging requirements;
Managing the testing of packaging designs along with Quality Assurance, customer requirements, and method of shipment requirements;
Quoting new packaging requirements in support of Cost Estimating for potential new business;
Supporting Quality Control in the research and correction of field quality problems with packaging.
EDUCATION: 4-year degree required; Packaging Engineering, Engineering or Industrial Technology preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
Internship, co-op or more experience in a packaging related manufacturing role;
Automotive manufacturing experience is a plus;
Analytical and problem solving skills;
Organizational and planning skills;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
