Quality Engineer
Location :
Danville, IL
Managing and driving continuous improvements in total quality systems used in making, packing and shipping food products;
Providing technical expertise by identifying program and process variation and implementing corrective and preventative actions;
Establishing and improving standards for manufacturing practices and methods;
Providing statistical information and managing issues in weight control, product composition, product attributes, consumer complaints, etc.;
Maintaining current capability data on all systems;
Supporting loss elimination processes and product and process improvements;
Supporting sanitation and food safety inspections to ensure root cause of deviations;
Providing leadership for operations and quality technicians.
EDUCATION:
4-year degree required; Science or Technical disciplines preferred.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
One or more years of experience in a food manufacturing plant quality department;
Ability to provide technical leadership and training to cross-functional teams;
Ability to use scientific principles and statistical methods to investigate manufacturing problems to formulate solutions;
Knowledge and familiarity with auditing quality systems such as sanitation, GMPs, Recall Traceability, HACCP, QCMS;
Familiar with formulas, batch sheets, cost specifications and lab standards;
Highly proficient in computer applications, input and processing;
GFSI certification preferred.
Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
