Registered Nurse (BHIP)
The Mental Health Clinic (MHC) Nurse practices as a registered nurse (RN), and functions as a consultant and educator while providing collaborative care and protocol-based treatment support to outpatients in the MHC.
The assessment and collaborative care provided by this professional nurse is performed in a clinic setting, in collaboration with other mental health professionals.
This RN will demonstrate competency in telephone care, computer skills, information management, crisis management, and resource management.
The client population ranges from adult to geriatric, and includes Veteran outpatients with a variety of mental health conditions.
This RN strives to maintain clinical competencies through continuous study, in-services, and participation in obtaining, continuing education units.
Based on education and experience, this position may be assigned responsibilities as a preceptor.
