Program Support Assistant

The Credentialing Specialist is responsible for collecting relevant data and decision-making process to ensure that qualified health care professionals are proving appropriate care in appropriate settings. DUTIES:
- - The Credentialing Specialist has continuing responsibility for specialized duties to accomplish the mission and function of the credentialing program. - Serves as subject matter expert in the field of credentialing. - Uses significant judgment to inform leadership and appropriate administrative staff of program changes, new regulatory requirements, policies, and procedures. - Assists C&P Manager or Analyst in drafting local credentialing procedures for LIP and Non-LIPs. - Receives and reviews VetPro reports detecting problems, research reference material, regulations, and standards to identify appropriate action. - Manages provider applications. - Ensures primary source verification to include, but not limited to, state licenses, certifications, and required certifications. - Assures application packages and other documents meet technical requirements. - Conducts final appointment into the VetPro database after thoroughly research. - Develops and provides routine and special reports as requested by the C&P Manager/Analyst. Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-7 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-6. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. If the most recent SF-50 has an effective date within the past year, it may not clearly demonstrate you possess one-year time-in-grade, as required by the announcement. GS-7 Grade Requirements:
Must possess one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower level (GS-06) in the Federal Service. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position. Examples of specialized experience are:
Knowledge of VetPro polices; Skill to communicate orally technical information to a diver group of individuals; Skill in medical terminology to assure competence/appropriateness of credentials requested; Skill to communicate in writing to prepare emails, letters, and reports; Skill in using software applications; Skill to analyze applications, documents, files, and other materials; Skill to manage multiple projects and priorities and meet deadlines. As a general rule, education is not creditable above GS-5 for most positions covered by this standard; however, graduate education may be credited in those few instances where the graduate education is directly related to the work of the position You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
